Nearly 1,300 employees of various government departments were administered pledge of ethical voting at the Collectorate on Tuesday and the Virudhunagar Collector V. Rajaraman has administered the pledge that the voters would not accept any bribe, in form of money or kind and also any other inducement for voting.


The employees took vow that they would uphold the democratic tradition of the country and uphold the ethics for free and fair elections and they have also promised that they would inform the election authorities if they came to know about any election related malpractices happens anywhere in the district.


Same way pledge was taken at various State and Central government offices across the district and the Election Commission has planned to post additional flying squads to each of the 162 zones of the seven Assembly constituencies in the district.


Meanwhile a statement from the District Election Officer has stated that the additional squads would start functioning from Wednesday and the squads would work to prevent bribing of voters and the public can complain about any malpractice to the election control room over 1800-425-7039 and also over 94880-83880 for immediate action.
