Many pro-Telangana voices and NGAO’s apart from political parties
are reportedly lamenting the lethargic approach of Telangana’s Chief
Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao over handling the record drought situation
in the State. It has to be remembered that right from the state
formation two years ago, Telangana’s farmers have lost four consecutive
crops.
Even now it is not KCR who requested
Prime Minister's appointment, but was in turn the CM who was invited by
the Centre along with other heads of drought hit States. The focus of
TRS administration on big budget schemes, one after the other by
elections and operation Aakarsh rather than drought is reminding people
of the TDP regime under Chandrababu during 2001 to 2004.
Even
then Babu administration was aloof hoping that Hyderabad’s development
is the only big thing that has to bothered as Communists opened ambali
(rice porridge) centers to feed rural people in villages. Babu ridiculed
it and now KCR has asked authorities to deny permission for amabli
centers.
He reportedly feels it would give a
wrong impression about Telangana. The same lacklustre response of
Chandrababu in 2002 is now being seen in KCR administration. If anyone
questions it, they need to be ready for serious counter reactions just
like Babu regime then!
