Now in a fresh twist to the tale of Sheena Bora murder case, Indrani Mukerjea's former driver Shyamvar Rai confessed special CBI court that he wants to be an approver and disclose certain truths. Driver Rai also wrote a two page letter to the court stating that he needs to confess truth and he sought pardon in the case.
He said to Judge HS Mahajan, "I am aware about the acts connected with the commission of the offence and was a participant to the murder (of Sheena)." When Judge asked him about the case, he revealed that Sheena was killed by strangulation. He also revealed there was no pressure or threat to reveal the truth.
The court directed CBI to file its reply on May 17 over Rai's plea to turn approver in the case. It should be noted that Rai was the first accused in this murder case. Indrani's husband Peter Mukerjea's bail plea is coming for hearing on May 13th. His early bail application has been rejected.
As per CBI, Peter was part of this murder conspiracy. It should be noted that Indrani, her former husband Sanjeev Khanna and Rai had allegedly strangled Sheena (24) inside a car in April 2012. This crime came to spot light due to some financial dealings.
