On Wednesday near the entrance of Tenali Railway Station, locals were left panic-stricken when a mentally ill person has damaged a State Bank of India ATM and many were shocked as the persons waiting outside to withdraw money have immediately alerted the police.
The Tenali III Town inspector Ashok Kumar has said that the man was identified as Khadar Ali Khan, from Nuzvid and it was stated that Khan has entered the ATM room around 9 am and has damaged the machine with his bare hands.
The SBI officials have reached the spot to recover the damaged ATM and the man could not break the ATM's cash safe and he seems mentally disturbed as he has been giving incoherent answers and currently he is under railway police custody.
The Tenali police inspector A. Ashok Kumar has told that a case has been booked for damaging the railway property. The investigations are going and the police are scrutinizing whether the man is acting as a mentally challenged person or really he is so.
