Only hardly three days left over for the upcoming state assembly elections the city residents have made a complaint about issues plaguing the voter ID application process and of names being dropped from electoral rolls.

S. Abhinav a resident of Kodambakkam, Chennai has told that he had applied for a new voter ID in March and initially the online services were seemed to be good but upon tracking his application, he has found that despite the application being processed, he wasn’t assigned an ID number.

According to Abhinav, the toll-free number 1950 was of little help and he was asked to visit the zonal office, where he was not treated well nor were his queries were answered properly and the employees had neglected his queries.

His wife who has also applied for the ID 20 days after he did, got her voter ID though and when a top official on election duty from the city Corporation was contacted, he has assured that he would look into the matter.
