The Telugu Desam Party had always played a key role in the
formation of governments at national level and in this regard the party
leadership has good connections with a host of national party leaders.
Now this is being revived and that too for a significant purpose of the
state.
Sources say that sensing AP Chief
Minister Chandrababu Naidu's discomfort with Narendra Modi third front
leaders who are keen on roping in all non BJP leaders to a single
platform are getting in touch with him to start building a credible
platform against the BJP.
In this regard, there
are reports that the BJP leadership has sensed that a host of national
leaders are planning to pull Chandrababu and his TDP slowly towards
their side. There are speculations that Congress will be backing a third
front headed by Nitish Kumar as Prime Minister candidate.
It
will be interesting to see how Chandrababu will entertain them because
he is aware BJP may make his job more difficult. Also there is a chance
that TDP might use this as a bargaining chip to finally extract
something from Modi. The coming days will give better clarity on this.
