Triple Talaq in muslim religion is breaking the hearts of many snapping many married relations with in seconds. Now a muslim woman started triple talaq battle taking it to the highest court in India. 


25 year old Afreen Rehman from Jaipur,who has been victim of the triple talaq system approached Supreme Court to nullify the current divorce practice. Rehman sharing her ordeal said she married in 2014 through a matrimonial portal but her in laws started demanding dowry and tortured her mentally after 2-3 months. 


She added that they started beating her and was asked to leave their place in September. She said when she was staying in her maternal home, she received a speed post from her husband announcing divorce through triple talaq. 


Even Shista Ambanr, All India Muslim Women Personal Law Board (AIMWPLB) president also demanded nullyfing the system. A case is already in Supreme Court, when Shayara Bano challenged he constitutionality of Section 2 of the Muslim Personal Law (Shariat) Application Act, 1937 in so far as it seeks to recognise and validate polygamy, triple talaq and nikah halala.


Talaq-e-bidat is a Muslim man divorcing his wife by pronouncing more than one talaq in a single tuhr (the period between two menstruations), or in a tuhr after coitus, or pronouncing an irrevocable instantaneous divorce at one go (unilateral triple-talaq).
Central government set up a high level committee to review the status of women and it sometime back recommended ban on practice of unilateral, oral and triple talaq and polygamy.
