Earlier on Sunday fresh protests have rocked the University of Hyderabad after the vice-chancellor Appa Rao Podile has issued a notice to remove all the tents at the shopping complex in the campus, which possibly also includes the 'Velivada' where Rohith Vemula had spent his last days.

The notice was sent on May 20 to the students' union president KP Zuhail stating that it is advised to remove the tents erected in front of the shopping complex on the campus without permission of the university, within 48 hours.

Munna Sanaki, member of Joint Action Committee for Social Justice has stated that the order has irked the supporters of Rohith Vemula on campus as they feel that the administration eviction of students was to remove the 'Velivada' or the Dalit ghetto and the VC didn't conduct any enquiry nor is he listening to their voices.

A poster was released by the Bhagat Singh Ambedkar Students Organization has stated that the Velivada or the Dalit colony in HCU has been the symbol and the nerve-centre of the Justice for Rohith movement.
