Currently Andhra Pradesh has big beach tourism plans next few years with nearly 39 beach front locations identified to be developed as the potential tourism hubs and hill and forest resorts in other areas. Akin to Kerala, AP tourism department is planning to develop river resorts along the coastal area.
For the beach resorts or any other tourism project, priority will be given to people with their own land where AP government will provide other subsidies. Though nearly 20 out of 39 beaches are developed to some extent rest will be taken up completely as new projects.
The Tourism department in collaboration with forest department is also mulling to develop Maredumalli and Bairlyty, Tummalabailu as the tiger safari, Pacharla as the jungle resorts along with Nelapattu as the full-fledged bird sanctuaries.
According to officials, ITC is coming up with five star hotels in Vizagapatinam and Guntur and KSR developers is building three star hotel in Vizagapatinam, Temple town Tirupathi will see Holiday inn and Taj Gateway as the five-star hotels and Vijayawada will have two one five star hotel (Novatel) and three star hotels at the earliest.
