The Telugu Desam Party, which has been more or less relegated to a
weak position in Telangana with 12 of its 15 MLAs taking a plunge into
Telangana Rashtra Samithi, sources say that the party is all set to lose
its lone MP seat. Here are the details of this situation.
Sources
say that the TDP MP from Malkajgiri and well known education
entrepreneur Malla Reddy is most likely to be joining TRS very soon. He
announced the other day that in Telangana, there is no alternative to
the TRS. His entry to TRS will be a big blow to the TDP.
This
he says was reflected in outcome of Greater Hyderabad Municipal
Corporation elections. Malla Reddy reportedly stayed away from TDP’s
Mahanadu held at Tirupati recently where the Telangana TDP leaders had
proclaimed their hope of winning 90 Assembly seats in Telangana during
2019 elections.
It is said widely that the
Malla Reddy got the TDP ticket in 2014 elections with his money power
and secured Malkajgiri seat usually dominated by Seemandhra settlers.
Since the same Seemandhra people have chosen TRS in GHMC polls, the MP
also desires to sail with pink party!
