RBI chief Raghuram Rajan has been in news for all reasons. While PM Modi's government is not commenting on his second term, his cabinet ministers are attacking him expressing their displeasure against his continuation for the second term as RBI governor.

This triggered into political slug fest between the ruling BJP and the opposition Congress party. Former Minister Chidrambaram said current government donot know how to use Raghuram Rajan's talent.

Many people across the world support him and infact  "Rexit", a play on Britain's EU referendum, has been coined about whether Mr Rajan will remain in office. Subrahmanian Swamy, BJP MP wrote two letters to PM Modi asking him to to give second term to Raghuram Rajan due to his  "willful" moves to "wreck the Indian economy" and because he is "mentally not fully Indian."

Rajan however stated that he welcomes constructive criticism and till now didnot have even one disagreement with the Finance Minister Arun Jaitley. Rajan as expected let the repo rates unchanged and suddenly rumours spread that he informed PM Modi that he doesn't want two year extension and instead prefer to return to the University of Chicago.
