Sources have stated that southwest monsoon arrived in Tamil Nadu on Wednesday and southern parts of the State are likely to receive thundershowers till Friday with the strengthening of westerly winds, several parts of southern Tamil Nadu and Kerala received heavy rain on Tuesday night.
While Chennai and its neighborhood has received nearly one cm of rainfall till 8.30 p.m., Madurai, Coimbatore, Mettupalayam, Valparai, Theni and Dindigul received mild showers and the other parts of the State received only scattered and mild showers on Wednesday.
The Meteorological Department has predicted that the monsoon will continue to spread over Kerala, some parts of Tamil Nadu are also likely to get some showers and Chennai will continue to experience a dip in daytime temperature of around 34 degree Celsius and receive thunder showers in the evening till Friday.
People who have visited the Marina Beach in Chennai were in for a surprise as some of them witnessed hailstorm along with heavy showers and some of them also shared photographs on the social media.
