What an irony for former union minister and current Bharatiya Janata Party leader Daggubati Purandeshwari who faced embarrassing moments when she translated the speech of Union Minister for Human Resources Development Smriti Irani recently at Vijayawada.

Smriti arrived in Vijayawada to address the people of the region as part of the Vikas Parv (Development celebrations. Purandeshwari is senior in politics than Smrithi and she was holding the same portfolio when she was in the UPA something which Smriti is holding now,.
Naturally, Purandeshwari, earned a lot of respect during the UPA regime as the daughter of N T Rama Rao was inconvenienced when she took up the job of translator in the NDA regime. When Smriti criticised the Congress party and the earlier UPA government in terms of neglecting higher, things got interesting.
Purandeshwari criticised her own role directly in the UPA government. Well again Smriti was all praises for AP Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu for his efficiency in government. And Purandeshwari translated these same sentences verbatim praising Babu, her bitter foe!
