The Bharatiya Janata Party has been sticking to its guns regarding the issue of central funds being given to Telangana. It has also now upped the ante by claiming that the state received not only Rs 90,000 crore, but it has been given Rs 1.16 lakh crore in last two years.

The success of its public meeting at Suryapet recently in Nalgonda district has sparked a war of words. Telangana’s finance minister Etela Rajender has countered the claim and stated that the Centre gave only Rs 36,000 crore. The response from BJP is awaited on this.
