The urologists of the Hyderabad city on World Continence Week (20th June to 26th June 2016) have said that its very common and one of the most under diagnosed disorder affecting all age group and if someone is visiting the bathroom more than eight times a day or in less than two-hour intervals, he or she might be suffering from overactive bladder (OAB).


Meanwhile Dr Sanjay S Sinha, Urologist of Apollo Hospitals, Hyderabad has said that various observational studies have stated that, most people hesitate to visit their doctor with this problem due to embarrassment.


Even Dr. K Lalitha, Urogynaecologist, Century Hospital, Banjara Hills, Hyderabad has told that symptoms of OAB include the urgent need to pass urine, frequently going to the toilet and accidental leakage of urine because they have not made it to the toilet on time.


OAB is a treatable condition that can be managed through lifestyle changes and medicines and once help is sought, and with the proper support, control of the bladder can be regained and the problem sorted.
