The fourth estate has become a powerful arm these days. The manner in which media projects a government is considered very important. It may make or mar an administration and political heads these days are fully aware of how this shapes public opinion. Hence media gets most attention.
It is a known fact that TDP is accused of having several channels favouring the party openly. Sensing this, the late Y S Rajasekhar Reddy gave wings to Sakshi with his son Jagan Mohan Reddy at the helm. Naturally KCR too started Namasthe Telangana to air his views.
After formation of Telangana, KCR gave a sample of his rule when he indirectly banned TV 9 and ABN Andhrajyothy. In court the state government said that it is not involved in banning the channels and laid blame on SMOs. But it is an open fact that TRS was behind this move.
Now Sakshi channel is off the air in Andhra Pradesh and now the case has come for hearing in the court. The state government gave in writing that it is not behind the ban. Naturally by the time next hearing comes up, the Kapu agitation will have fizzled out and Sakshi will be broadcast again.
