Sources from Chennai have stated that the Swathi murder case accused P. Ramkumar in a bail application has filed before the principal district sessions court here has claimed that he did not kill her where the plea is likely to be heard this week.
Meanwhile Ramkumar has stated that he did not attempt to slit his throat and that some persons who have accompanied the police during his arrest has assaulted him with a blade and then made up the suicide story and when relying on the version of an alleged eyewitness, who have claimed that Swathi was assaulted by a person two days before the murder.
It is stated that Ramkumar’s counsel G. Krishnamoorthy has said that the police are screening the real offender by implicating the petitioner, who is innocent and a poor person hailing from a village and even Mr. Krishnamoorthy has claimed that the petitioner was in no way connected with the crime.
He has alleged that the police had foisted a false case on Ramkumar and the guy has assured the court that he would cooperate with the investigation, and would not in any manner tamper with the prosecution witnesses and presently the suspect has been shifted to Puzhal prison from the Royapettah Government Hospital.
