The Investigations for the techie murder have entered the next stage. An identification parade of accused P.Ramkumar was conducted at Puzhal central prison today. Parade started by 10:30am and it lasted for an hour.


Swathi's father Santhana Gopalakrishnan and Sivakumar, a shopkeeper on the Nungambakkam railway station platform, were the two witnesses made to identify the accused. Along with Ramkumar some 25 persons were made to stand in the parade.


The whole process took place midst tight security. Identification parade is a very important step in Criminal case. Usually 5 to 10 persons who look similar to the accused will be made to stand in a line along with accused. The eyewitnesses will be asked to identify the accused they had seen during the incident in the crime spot.  


This procedure will happen in presence of a judicial magistrate and they will be deputed by a Chief Metropolitan Magistrate on request of the investigation officer. On request of the investigating officer, the prison officials usually  arranges five to ten other inmates from the prison who has similar  identities with the of the accused to stand in the parade.
