Madurai sources have stated that seawater has entered three coastal villages like Vellapatti, Siluvaipatti and Rajapalayam in Tuticorin district of Tamilnadu on Wednesday.


It is stated that the sea had been rough for the past two days and the waves that rose up to 10 feet brought in seawater to the villages and the people are very much tensed whether it is like Tsunami.


The Seawater has entered 40 to 50 meters into these villages and the houses and other buildings, including a fish auction centre, were submerged in seawater and boats were capsized.


According to fishermen, he has told that the sea is usually rough during mid-July every year and the full moon may also be a reason for the sea being rough. Many people were really got afraid on seeing the seawater into these places.
