The German police have stated that on Saturday a gunman who went on a shooting rampage at a busy shopping mall at Munich has likely acted alone, and then has committed suicide after killing nine people in cold blood and have told that the gunman was a German Iranian 18 year old who was not previously known to police.
The German DPA News Agency have reported that the statement from authorities have come after explosives experts from the Munich police have examined a backpack found on a dead man thought to be the lone assailant in the rampage.
Meanwhile the Munich's main train station was evacuated and metro and bus transport in the city suspended for several hours while residents were ordered to stay in their homes, leaving the streets largely deserted.
Obama has told that their hearts go out to those who may have been injured and it is still an active situation, and Germany's one of our closest allies, so they are going to pledge all the support that they may need in dealing with these circumstances.
