Sources have stated that a woman from Andhra Pradesh’s Guntur district has gifted a toilet to her daughter-in-law and it was stated that the idea behind the gift was that the new bride shouldn't suffer without a toilet as she once did.


Shamsun, a resident of Bollavaram village in Guntur has told that she cannot even talk about the monsoon months and the hardships that the season represented for us women to answer nature's call and she has once felt particularly humiliated when a Dubai-based relative of hers refused to visit her home.


It is stated that after attending meetings organized by the district administration, and learning about toilet construction and government-funded schemes for villagers who wanted to build them, Shamsun has decided to have one built before her son's wedding. 


Meanwhile after eradicating the practice of open defecation is one of the objectives that the Swachh Bharat mission has fixed for it and the Union Rural Development minister Narendra Singh Tomar has launched the Swachh Bharat Gramin  August campaign on Monday.
