At least 55 people were killed and more than 100 others were injured as a powerful bomb has blasted in Government-run hospital in Quetta. This is reported to be a suicide attack followed by gunfire.
As per Police and rescue officials, the blast at Civil Hospital came hours after unidentified gunmen shot dead president of Balochistan Bar Association (BA) Advocate Bilal Anwar Kasi in the provincial capital following which lawyers had brought his body to the hospital.
As per reports, most of the people who were dead and injured were lawyers and journalists. Police said unknown men also opened fire after the blast. Condition of 20 people who are in injured list is said to be more serious and critical.
However no group has claimed responsibility for the attacks and shooting so far. Balochistan home minister Sarfaraz Bugti said, "This has happened due to security lapse. We are investigating this personally."
Most of the dead wear wearing black suits and ties. Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and President Mamnoon Hussain strongly condemned the blast and they expressed their deep grief.
