Indian Parliament finally passed the long delayed GST constitution bill. All parties discussed for hours over the bill and except for AIADMK members who protested against the bill and walked out of the house, all parties voted in favour of the bill.

Now many are left wondering what is Team India captain Virat Kohli's connection with GST. During the discussion on GST, Virat Kohli's name came into the discussion surprising everyone. PM Modi in the parliament thanked all parties and said GST bill will end tax terrorism.

During the discussion on GST in Rajya Sabha, TMC MP Derek O Brien, known for his speeches, pulled out Virat Kohli's name to stress the importance of GST. He went on to say “Sir, I want to end with a little story. There was a boy of Class X at Xavier School in Delhi — a little known Delhi school compared to fancy Delhi schools — he was born at the time the GST concept was first introduced. He was in Class X in 2005. The boy, who was in Class X, is today winning us fame and great victories in West Indies. His name is Virat Kohli,”

Derek Obrien went on to add “There are millions of young Virat Kohlis across the country who are looking at us today. For their sake and for the sake of India tomorrow, we need to deliberate, we need to debate, we need to legislate and we need to implement the GST Bill. The faster we do it, the better it would be,”

In the entire debate over GST,though many top leaders participated in the discussion, Derek O Brien's speech became the highlight and talking point the moment he related GST passage to that of Virat Kohli's arrival and sucess on international arena.

Now people of India are waiting eagerly on the positive and negative impact of GST on their lives and on the economy of the country.
