Sources have stated that former Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Kalikho Pul has allegedly committed suicide on Tuesday, less than a month after the Supreme Court has unseated him and reinstated his rival Nabam Tuki, where Mr. Pul’s body was found hanging from a ceiling fan in a bedroom of the Chief Minister’s official bungalow.

It is stated that news of his death has spread across Itanagar, hundreds of Mr. Pul’s supporters have gathered outside his residence and has staged a protest, blaming Congress legislators for their “betrayal” of the former chief minister. The state police chief S. Nithyanandam has only said that all documents had been seized from the room where the incident occurred.

Meanwhile a senior Congress leader in New Delhi said Mr. Pul had become a victim of the BJP’s vicious politics after his rebellion in December 2015 and he was an honest, hard-working politician, who has got entangled in the BJP’s twisted agenda.

Sources have added that the situation was brought under control by the afternoon, where Mr. Pul’s body is anticipated to be flown to his home district, Anjaw, on Wednesday and when speaking to the reporters, Mr. Mein has said the post mortem report would be ready by Wednesday.
