Sources from Hyderabad have stated that the chaos that has unfolded on the streets of Hyderabad in the year’s preceding the bifurcation of erstwhile Andhra Pradesh did not impact the lives of locals alone and it also left the city's close-knit expat community fragmented and owing to shutdown of offices the big fat expat family was reduced to an insignificant number.

It is stated that impressive number of foreign professionals from the US, UK, France and Canada are trooping into the city's IT corridor  or Hyderabad's own Silicon Valley, as they prefer to call it and though it'll be a while before they return to those glorious days.

Meanwhile Padmaja Yalamanchi, an Indian-origin resident of Texas who moved to Hyderabad on an assignment in 2010 has stated that during the political unrest, many multinational companies and a few Europe-based airline carriers have decided to move out of Hyderabad. HSBC, which had brought nearly 40 expat families to Hyderabad, was one of them.

The fact that companies such Microsoft and Facebook have decided to set up some of their biggest offices here has definitely made more people aware of the city's importance, while earlier, people back home were only familiar with Mumbai and Delhi, Hyderabad has joined their ranks presently.
