A deadly explosion suspected to be carried out by a suicide bomber on a wedding party killed around 30 people in Turkey. The dastardly act happened in Gaziantep near the border of Syria. Turkey has been witnessing increase in attacks carried out by Kurdish and Islamist militants. 


Turkey recently witnessed a failed coup which resulted in huge violence. Ali Yerlikaya,governor of Gaziantep said 30 people had been killed and 94 injured in an attack on wedding party. He vowed to bring the perpetrators to book and condemned the traitors who carried the attacks. 


Mehmet Erdogan, a ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) lawmaker for Gaziantep said it is not clear as to who carried out the attacks but suspected suicide bombers for it. He said the attack was similar to the one launched by the Islamic State (IS) group or the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK).


Gaziantep MP for the AKP, Samil Tayyar said "Initial information suggests it is Daesh (IS) who did this," The attack in the Sahinbey district which happened to have large Kurdish residents is increasing speculation of the Kurdish rebels. 
Deputy Prime Minister Mehmet Simsek said "The aim of terror is to scare the people but we will not allow this," 


The city which is just 60 km from the north of Syrian border has become hub for Syrians feeling from the civil war in their country.
