Hyderabad sources have stated that the Secunderabad Cantonment Board (SCB) has decided to invite fresh tenders for toll tax collection and octroi for 2016-17 at a special meeting which was held in the city on Saturday.
Meanwhile SCB chief executive officer Sujatha Gupta, who has put forth the proposal of re-tender, told to the board members that the bids received for 2016-17 were lower when compared to fiscal 2015-16. Hence the need for the SCB to re-invite e-Tenders for collection rights of toll tax and octroi for 2016-17.
The President Cantonment board (PCB) Brig A S Negi has declared that the tenders were cancelled after which a resolution was passed unanimously to the effect and the contract for collection of toll tax and octroi for 2015-16 would end on August 31st .
Sources have added that the contract for collection of the two levies ended on July 31st, but the board extended it till August 31st and a fresh notification will be issued in a day or two giving 13 day time to file tenders through the e-Tender method.
