Sources from Andhra have stated that AP CM Chandrababu Naidu has offered a whopping 15 acres in Amaravathi to Pullela Gopichand who is the man behind Olympic silver medalist PV Sindhu and many more such talented badminton players and Naidu has asked Gopichand to build a world-class badminton academy in Amaravathi.
Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu has publicly announced the offer and has said that the academy will be part of the proposed 'Sports City' in the new capital, where the academy should have best infrastructure to attract international players and Naidu has added that the AP state government will pool in funds through donations and will also pitch in to establish the academy.
Chandrababu has said that he would take the responsibility to have such infrastructure, other facilities and has advocated the sports meet in India, and the Prime Minister and the President should start bidding for the Olympics to conduct in India.
Sources have also added that Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu might have been revered as Hitech CM, but not many are aware of his equal love for sports as it was him who has provided a platform for sports in Hyderabad.
