Recently Turkey witnessed coup attempt on its regime which was foiled and later it lead to unprecedented violence. Now it is comingout that an assassination attempt on German Chancellor Angela Merkel has been foiled. According to the sources Czech police detained an armed person who tried to join Angela Merkel's motorcade during her visit to Prague.
Joseph Morgan, police spokesman speaking to the scribes said "The perpetrator has been detained,". He went on to added "He is suspected of attempting to cause a crime -- specifically an attempt to use violence against an official,"
Prague detectives are currently investigating the incident. Angela Merkel was in Prague to meet Bohuslav Sobotka, Prime Minister of Czech Republic. When she was travelling from the airport to Prague a suspicious black Mercedes appeared in her convoy.
Suspicion increased when the driver refused to take orders from the police cars. The suspect tried to join the Merkel's motorcade and even cut off a police vehicle when it tried to stop him. He got out only after police warned of shooting him down.
What surprised everyone is even after Europe has been on high alerts due to series of attacks in the past 12 months, the incident happened.
