Divya Spandana,who seduced all scorching red hot on sandalwood silverscreen with her beauty using screen name Ramya now entered politics. She became the youngest MP in 2013 when she won from Mandya contesting on Congress ticket. However she lost the next elections but she landed in controversy when she started praising Pakistan after visiting the country and getting felicitations there.

Right after coming from Pakistan, She took a dig at Defence Minister Manohar Parikkar who commented that going to Pakistan is like going to hell in the contest of the violence in Kashmir fomented by Pakistan and also terror attacks. 


She praised Pakistan and said Pakistan is not a hell and stuck by her statements. A case of sedition has been filed on her by a Bangalore based lawyer but Ramya even after intense protests in Karnataka, she stuck to her words.

Now when she visited Mangalore and was on her way to the city from airport, protesters attacked her and thew eggs on her car. Ramya speakign to scribes said “When I landed in Mangalore, eggs were hurled at me, black flags were shown. I won't take my words back, I am not worried,”


All national and local channels aired her comments that Ramya support Pakistan. Protesters were seen waving black flags and threw eggs on her convoy and started shouting "Ramya go back", "down, down, Ramya". 


Police detained many protesters for the attack on Ramya vehicle with eggs. Amidst the controversy over Ramya's statements, discussion is increasing on whether sedition laws are needed in the current context.
