Himachal Pradesh sources have stated that three medium intensity earthquakes has epic entered in Kullu region of Himachal Pradesh on Saturday morning has jolted the hill state in span of two hours, where the first tremors were felt at 6.44 am in and around Kullu and the intensity was measured at 4.6 at Richter scale.

It is stated that the residents of Rampur area bordering Kullu district have heard a big blast underground and has come out of their homes and no immediate loss of human life was reported but the dozens of structures in Bro, Jagatkhana and Dakolad areas have developed cracks.


It was stated that the intensity was lower during the second and third tremors which was measured at 4.3 and 4.2 Richter scales respectively and as the depth of the quake was for 10 kilometers, tremors were also felt in other areas.


The director of MET Dr. Manmohan Singh has told that tremors were also felt in lower areas of the state which includes Shimla and Solan, where the intensity of tremors which was felt in Solan was measured at 3.00 Richter scale. It is stated that nearly 75 earthquakes have rattled Himachal Pradesh during the past decade, where seven has their epicenter at Himachal Pradesh.
