Uttar Pradesh is going to polls soon and as it happens to be the largest state in the country stakes are high for all regional and national parties to win the elections as Lucknow will lead to Delhi. Though the elections are early 2017 parties are leaving no stone unturned.
In the midst of all this various shocking developments are comingout in the media. Sometime back news cameout that unrecognised parties are induling in dummy candidates scam by taking money to eat into the votes of the strong candidates and thus affect the end results.
Now it is comingout that dirty dancing is increasing as D day is arriving in Uttar Pradesh. Inside talk is demand is increasing for nautch or dance girls and illegal trafficking is increasing from the neighbouring states.
NGOs recently along with the cops rescued 32 girls from Allahabad brought in from chattisgarh for the purpose. This proved that all the girls are not licensed bar girls who normally come from Mumbai. Rishi Kant of NGO Shakti Vahini speakign to scribes says he will write to Election Commission to ban dance shows during electioneering.
He said "Small troupes have mushroomed across UP and they are not registered with any authority," and added "There is no telling how and where the girls were procured from and if they are not forced into the flesh trade post the shows at night or in the off-season. There is no monitoring if their basic human rights, food and salary are taken care of,"
It is common practise for dance troupes in Bihar and UP. Chhattisgarh Police and Shakti Vahini in July rescued 32 girls from a farm house in Baraun. Sheru, main trafficker picked them from very poor families and the youngest was just 14 years.
Sarbari Bhattacharya, head of West Bengal CID, said, "We had rescued a girl from a dance troupe in Gonda, near Ayodhya, in 2014. She told us that underage girls are given steroids so that their feminine parts mature and clients like them. Even transgenders are used."
Police and NGOs say they indulge in cheap tricks under the impression that it will improve the poll prospects.
