Hyderabad sources have added that the Telangana government on Thursday has made an announcement that it was increasing the dearness allowance (DA) for its employees by 3.144%.
It is stated that with the finance department approving the hike, the DA for the state government employees went up from the current 15. 196% to 18.34% and the increase is payable with retrospective effect from January 2016.
Meanwhile it was added that the beneficiaries of the new DA rate include employees of panchayat raj and municipal administration bodies such as zilla parishads, mandal parishads, gram panchayats, and municipalities. It is also payable to teaching and non-teaching staff of government and aided polytechnics.
Sources have also added that the same benefit is extended to teaching and non-teaching staff on regular scale in universities including Pro Jayashankar Agriculture University and Jawaharlal Nehru Technology University, where the DA has been increased from 119% to 125% for teaching and non-teaching staff who are drawing UGC pay scale in universities.
