Hyderabad sources have stated that a glitch in the National Scholarship Portal has left thousands of students in the city who wish to avail the pre-matric scholarship, which awards between Rs 1,000 and Rs 5,000 to school students and applicants are unable to register at the portal website as the they are unable to input their "block" and "taluk" while registering for the scholarship.

According to Syed Qutubuddin Masood, a resident of the Old City, who fills applications for students free of charge, there are as many as 700 applications waiting to be filled online and activist who help parents from weaker sections of society said that applications are piling up.


According to Ali Asghar, an activist associated with it, around 1,100 applicants are pending online registration. And the parents are worried because of the issue and they have lodged a complaint with the MoMA and have tried to speak to those who run the portal, but to no avail. 


Meanwhile the MWD secretary Syed Omer Jaleel has raised the issue in Delhi at a MoMA meeting on August 12th and the representatives from other states have flagged the issue as well and have written several letters to the concerned authorities for the past 20 days.
