Andhra Pradesh sources have stated that Minister of State for Health Anupriya Patel has clarified that India has become factory of babies with commercial surrogacy and they want to communicate that surrogacy should be the last option and they in no way are going to promote the idea of commercial surrogacy.
Patel has stated that 80% of total births taking place through surrogacy is for foreign countries only, many foreigners of other countries are using Indian uneducated tribal women as commercial surrogate mothers and such type of incidents are becoming more and more these days.
She doesn't want India to be the next country after Russia and Ukraine, where they are mostly taking part of this surrogacy and has also spoke about Surrogacy Regulation Bill 2016, which got approval recently got huge criticisms as well from several quarters.
It is stated that many issues will be discussed and addressed in Parliament about the same and the health minister is even anticipating positive response about it.
