Sources have stated that the neighboring Telugu states Andhra Pradesh and Telangana have been striving hard to make substantial progress in all-round development in the state and even managed to attract foreign attention to extent.
But the latest achievement has pulled off by both
the states, pushing the rest of the states way below them is something which is
tarnishing to the image of these fast developing states and definitely not to
be proud of and the latest National Crime Records Bureau's (NCRB) recent survey
report has revealed that AP and Telangana stood at first and second ranks in
the country for crimes against women.
According to the NCRB report, a total of 8,685 cases of outraging the modesty of women were reported across the country and of these, 2,200 cases were registered in Andhra Pradesh followed by Telangana with 1,228 cases and Maharashtra has occupied third position with 1,119 cases.
Meanwhile AP and Telangana has contended for the top spot with cases of abuse on women at work places, public transport systems and also at home and these shameful achievements has only proved that both the states have a long way to go in terms of women's safety while the initiatives taken by the respective police departments like Abhayam App in AP.
