Amristar sources have stated that Delhi chief minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convener Arvind Kejriwal who is on a four-day visit to Punjab to mobilize party's volunteers ahead of the assembly elections, announced to give holy city status to Amritsar and Ananpur Sahib, if his party is voted to power.



Kejriwal has tweeted and in it he has also called Amritsar as Sri Amritsar Sahib. The Delhi chief minister, out of his scheduled itinerary, has made a surprise visit to Amritsar to pay obeisance at Golden Temple.

Kejriwal has said since only three to four months are left for assembly elections, they are on a mission to save Punjab and eradicate the menace of drugs and corruption from its soil for which they need blessings from Guru and directions so that we tread on the path of truth.



Meanwhile former SAD (B) leader has turned independent municipal councilor Amarjit Singh Bhatia has joined AAP and Kejriwal went to Bhatia's house and has held a closed-door brief meeting with him and his supporters before going back to Ludhiana.
