Hyderabad sources have added that a significant drop in attendance was registered at Eamcet-III held on Sunday with a mere 66.25 per cent of candidates, who were issued hall tickets, showing up for the exam. The test is conducted for admissions to MBBS and BDS courses in Telangana.




It was stated that the test was held for the third time in Telangana after the paper leak scam broke in July this year. Eamcet-II had recorded 90% attendance and the low attendance to the ordeal the aspirants have had to go through to get a medical seat.

The official of Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University has stated that the delay in schedule of Eamcet-III may have taken a toll due to which scores of aspirants skipped the medical entrance test. Also, those who may have got ranks through NEET may have gone ahead with that score.



                                           

The Medical seats in Telangana were increased from 1,900 seats to 2,350 in private medical colleges following an order by the Supreme Court Mandated Oversight Committee on Medical Council of India (SCMOCMCI) and the total number of MBBS seats in Telangana has now gone up to 3,350, including 2,350 in private colleges and 1,000 in the six state-run medical colleges.
