As per report from Karnataka sources the rift over Cauvery River has not just drew attention of entire nation, it has also led to enormous financial and infrastructure loss in both Tamil Nadu and Karnataka and when ruling out Supreme Court's decision to release 12000 cusecs of water to Tamil Nadu, protests have emerged big in Bangalore and other parts of Karnataka.



According to a report by Assocham trade association, the reported loss in Karnataka is somewhere between 23,000 - 25000cr and in Karnataka the areas of loss include public transportation, industrial production, shopping malls, restaurants, cinema halls, educational institutions and mainly corporate sector.

Karnataka is considered as biggest IT center in India, Bangalore was one stop for IT firms globally, but, tension around the city has triggered a shutdown of business and companies like TCS, Infosys, Flipkart and Amazon express discontent over the activities.



Earlier today, Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah has appealed Prime Minister Narendra Modi for centre's intervention to bring back things to routine and on other hand, Tamil Nadu CM Jayalalitha has written to Siddaramaiah seeking the protection of Tamilians in Karnataka.
