First global cultural leadership summit in UAE
UAE will host the first global cultural leadership summit and the summit will take place from April 9-13 at Manarat Al Saadiyat on Saadiyat Island in Abu Dhabi in 2017. The event will be hosted by TCA Abu Dhabi and presented in conjunction with The FP Group, publishers of Foreign Policy Magazine, and TCP Ventures, LLC, a producer of artistic ventures and an advisory firm focused on issues associated with the arts and culture.
US warns Pakistan on terrorism
Despite Pakistan claims on cross border terrorism, USA gave strong warning to Pakistan. Obama administration conveyed strong mesage to the Pakistan government with Richard Olson, US Special Representative for Pakistan and Afghanistan stating "US officials have been very clear with the most senior Pakistani leadership that Pakistan must target all militant groups without discrimination+ - including those that target Pakistan's neighbours - and close all safe havens,"
China launches Tiangong 2, second space station
China in growing sign of its sophistication of its military-backed program launched second space station Tiangong 2, in its intention to send mission to Mars. The Tiangong 2 was carried into space on Thursday night atop a Long March 7 rocket from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center on the edge of the Gobi Desert in northern China.
Suicide attack at mosque in Pakistan kill 23
Suicide attack at a mosque in north west Pakistan in the Payee Khan village near Afghanistan border in Pakistan left 23 killed. The suicide bomber shouted 'Allahu Akbar' before exploding himself in a packed mosque. Naveed Akbar, deputy administrator of Mohmad agency said “The suicide bomber was in crowded mosque, he shouted ‘Allahu Akbar’ (God is greatest) and then there was a huge blast,”
2 Palestinian attackers dead
Two Palestinians rammed a car into a bus stop used by Israleis in the West Bank causing injuries. Israeli Army said one of the assailant was killed. Israeli Military issued statement saying "Two assailants rammed a vehicle into a civilian bus stop at the Elias junction near the community of Kiryat Arba,"
Air strikes on rebel held Syria town
Air strikes on a rebel held town Khan Sheikhun in Idlib province in northwest Syria killed three civilians including two children. Hardline Islamists and jihadists like Fateh al-Sham Front, which changed its name from Al-Nusra Front after breaking ties with Al-Qaeda is having considerable hold on the province.
Road accidents kill 17 and injure 40 in Bangladesh
Separate road accidents in Bangladesh killed 17 people including a woman and a child and 40 others injured. In the first incident, eight persons were killed and three others injured when a bus and a microbus collided head-on on Dhaka-Sylhet highway in Brahmanbarhia's Bijoynagar area, about 114 kms from Dhaka.
Boast explosion in Bali
Speedboat explosion in Bali killed two foreigners and injured 18 others. Rescuers rushed in to save the stunned and bloodied tourists off the vessel. Many injured tourists were taken to medical centres on the Indonesian holiday island after the blast,.
