Sources from Hyderabad have stated that heavy rains lashed the city
last night and the public life went out of gear in Hyderabad since morning and
many low lying localities were inundated and roads are filled with rain water,
which has resulted heavy traffic congestion in the city as vehicles stuck on
roads coming from different parts city since morning.
Meanwhile the Greater Hyderabad Municipal
Corporation has already issued warning people not to venture out until water
flow receded in low lying areas and panjagutta, Begumpet, Malkajigiri and
kukatpalli areas are the worst affected.
Presently the traffic police and GHMC officials are struggling hard to clear roads from traffic at every Junction and with huge inflows from the upper streams, water levels at Hussain Sagar has reached dangerous levels and efforts were on to discharge water from hussain Sagar to down streams.
Hyderabad was alerted by the warning that city
will receive heavy rains in next 24 hours, and the Chief Minister K
Chandrasekhar Rao who was in New Delhi had spoken to GHMC officials on phone
and has enquired precautions taken to prevent any damage to public life.
