Sources from Hyderabad have stated that residents of Ranga Reddy district woke up to a nightmare on Wednesday as roads in several localities had turned into rivers, courtesy the heavy downpour that lashed Hyderabad and its surrounding areas all through Tuesday night and  residential complexes partially submerged under about six-feet of water.



It was stated that the situation of residents living in Nizampet, Malkajgiri and Serilingampally, among many others, was equally traumatic as water from overflowing lakes, nalas and storm-water drains has gushed into their homes.

Bosu Kancharla, a chartered accountant has stated that on his way from Film Nagar to Kukatpally Y junction during the wee hours of day, the water level at Kukatpally junction was as high as my car's window pane and soon, he has realized his car was floating and out of control.



Many have agitated over the bad condition of NH 9 passing via JNTU in Kukatpally, members of the Telugu Nadu Students' Federation, meanwhile have staged a protest and have raised slogans against the GHMC's ill-preparedness to tackle the consequences of heavy monsoon showers.
