Subbiah Viswanathan, Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Apollo Hospitals on Sunday has stated that Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalitha is responding well to the treatment and “there is no question of taking the Honorable Chief Minister abroad for treatment, as there is no necessity at all for this.



 He has said Ms. Jayalalitha continues to get better and she will be discharged in a few days and will soon resume her normal duties, where necessary medications were being administered as required and as per standard medical protocols, necessary investigations and tests are being done to prevent recurrence of fever. The honorable Chief Minister is continuing on normal diet,” he has said.

The statement set at rest the rumors circulating on social media about the Chief Minister’s health and these are totally false and baseless, the COO has said, adding that as part of the recuperation process, she had been advised a few more days of rest.



Meanwhile the Health Minister C. Vijaya Baskar, Health Secretary J. Radhakrishnan, the director of medical services at the hospital, Sathyabama, was present at the media briefing and Ms. Jayalalitha was admitted to Apollo Hospitals here on Thursday night with fever and dehydration.
