Telangana sources have stated that following the state bifurcation, vehicles registration process in Telangana went through major changes for a couple of times and according to the latest reports, yet another change due to the formation of new districts seems inevitable immediately after Dasara.
It was stated that apparently, the State Transport
Department has prepared a note featuring the new vehicle codes to be allotted
to the vehicles in new districts and submitted it to the KCR government and so
far the registration codes 1 to 16 have been in vogue in Telangana.
Meanwhile of these, 6 vehicle numbers are being
allotted from 9 to 14 in Hyderabad and according to the transport department's
note and the new districts will be getting the vehicle codes starting from 17
to 33.
Sources have added that these changes will affect only the new vehicle
registrations and owners of old vehicles are given a breather by the transport
department which has said that the old vehicles may not need new registration
and the KCR government is also planning to set up a new RTA office in each
district in the state.
