New Delhi sources have stated that Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has written a letter to Prime Minister Modi in which he has alleged that the Centre has targeted small traders with nothing to hide as its own income declaration scheme has failed to achieve its goals, has also accused the government of failing to act against black money holders.

Kejriwal in his letter has stated that the I-T drive has generated a sense of fear among the small-time traders and shopkeepers and there have been media reports which have stated that roadside shopkeepers like those selling sweetmeats and savories have faced raids.

The CM has also reminded Modi of his promise to bring back black money from abroad, which was to be used for the emancipation of poor and you had hoped that through your scheme you would be able convert black money to the tune of Rs 1 lakh crore to white money and show a tax collection of Rs 45,000 crore.

He has concluded the letter by asking the PM to step in to stop the drive against small traders and says the closure of businesses of small traders amounts to gross injustice.
