Right after attack on Uri army base in Jammu and Kashmir on Sep 18 from the Jaish E Mohamad terrorists backed by Pakistan, public anger soared and bayed for the blood of the terrorists. Their patience started decreasing as Pakistan went on in denial mode, linked it to Kashmir violence, spun theory that India planned Uri strike and its PM Nawaz Sharif parroted Kashmir at UNGC hailing Hizbul Comander Burhan Wani as young leader.
Even as PM Modi and Indian government started calibrating economic,diplomatic offensive, some Pakistani supporters in India started demanding talks with Pakistan to solve Kashmir issue and put an end to terrorism. However public wanted revenge and many made fun of PM Modi reminding him of his 56 inch chest comment during election rally and also about his inaction except for reviewing Indus river treaty and also MFN status.
Sometime back rumours spread that Indian army avenged the death of 18 soldiers by entering into Pakistan and killing many soldiers and terror camps. Though some confirmed the reports, it was not officially declared by Indian army. Today however PM Modi chaired high level CCS meeting deferring review of MFN status meeting and instead
chaired a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Security to discuss the ceasefire violations along the Line of Control. Also present at the meeting were Home Minister Rajnath Singh, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar, NSA Ajit Doval, and Foreign Secretary S Jaishankar.
right after the meeting Director General of Military Operations (DGMO) Lt General Ranbir Singh in a press conference said Indian Army has conducted surgical strikes crossing the Line of Control (LoC) into Pakistan Occupied Kashmir inflicting significant damage to the terrorist infrastructure across the border.
It is coming out Indian Army went into the Pakistan Occupied Kashmir 3 KM inside after findingout that terrorists were ready at launch pads to infiltrate and conduct attacks across India and inflicted heavy damage. Though Pakistan army came to save the terrorists, all were killed and Indian army didnot suffer even single casualty.
DGMO revealed that there has been a surge in infiltration and India cannot allow terrorists to operate across the LoC. He said even after meeting with Pakistan no change happened and after the surgical strikes, Pakistan was informed.
PM Modi called on President Pranab Mukherjee, Vice President Hamid Ansari, J and K CM Mehbooba Mufti and other poltical leaders apprising them of the situation. Pakistan PM Nawaz Sharif said they will not take this act seriously.
