Some call it terrorism and some called it a war with a cause but the impact and the era that prevailed on a particular region of Sri Lanka can never be forgotten. Unfortunately, history has to be written with blood filled letters because the revolution or the war or the terror was put to an end with a bloody massacre.  We are talking about the battle of Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) led by a courageous Velupillai Prabhakaran. Even India had a taste of it when it lost its Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi and the world got exposed to the concept of suicide bombers. Today, LTTE is extinct and the reason for that is the massive elimination initiated by Sri Lankan army under the supervision of Mahindra Rajapakshe.  After the end of the war, many human right violation reports sprung up and the allegations were that even Prabhakaran along with his trusted generals was willing to surrender but all of them were shot dead without a second chance. While that is one side, the latest revelation has shocked the entire world. This is the killing of Balachandran, a twelve year old boy. What was his mistake? He is the son of Prabhakaran. The UK based Channel 4 has come up with pictures of Balachandran and how the boy was made to sit in a bunker with just his shorts and after some time bullet holes were found across his body. The post mortem experts say the gunshots took place at a close range which goes to show this is not a killing of crossfire but an intentional one. The report also suggests how Balachandran was offered a snack to eat before he was shot. This, in every sense, is a extremely cruel and cold blooded murder. War has casualties and many innocent lives are lost but not on a deliberate level. It only goes to show how demonic humans can get. It is a shame that we live to see such incidents happening and can do nothing about it. This is also a lesson to be learnt in humanity.
