Hugo Chavez was known around the world as president of Venezuela for the last 14 years consequently. He is also called as People’s Hero in Venezuela, born on 28 July 1954 into a working class family, Chavez became career military officer, and after becoming dissatisfied with the Venezuela political system, he founded the secretive MBR-200 [a revolutionary group against the Govt] in the early 1980’s. In its first attempt of revolution in 1992, MBR-200 failed miserably and Chavez was imprisoned for two years.
Chavez founded social democratic political party after his release from the prison and was elected to be president of Venezuela in 1998 and the Chavez era continued till he died yesterday with complicated form of cancer. There is a myth of considering Chavez as dictator, but all these days people of Venezuela made their choice very clearly in favor of Chavez through four presidential elections held so far from 1998.
Chavez is a born socialist and created his own flavor of socialism in the name of Bolivarianism, and questioned the domination of America on Venezuela, made sure interests of Venezuela were never compromised for USA. Also, in his 14+ years of presidential tenure, Chavez delivered almost all promises he made to people as well introduced schemes, policies in the favor of his country people over and above the promises.
