Just like Punjab in the north the state of Andhra Pradesh has been famous in the south for its fertile lands and the kind of agriculture that used to happen. But over the years, the situation has turned bad. It is not due to lack of interest but due to the lack of infrastructure for the agricultural community.  According to reports, the north Andhra region has got a very good potential to become an agri-rich region. But then, it is heard that the area would require a minimum of Rs 1500 crores to revamp the whole thing. The first thing to do is the completion of the existing irrigation projects in the region.  Places like Totapalli, Vamsadhara, Narayanpur and other projects need to be completed and if that happens promptly then areas like Srikakulam and other parts of north Andhra will be completely ridden of water scarcity and other things. Unfortunately, not an inch of action has reportedly taken place during the congress regime.
