This link may be initially surprising but looking at the mood of Congress CM Kiran and PCC chief it is being said that with the party goes ahead with local body polls starting from Panchayath, municipal polls to corporate body elections, it might definitely get a ‘power shock’.
This is in view of the current hike in power tariff and massive power cuts. Though the party was initially confident about local body polls, owing to its spectacular show in co-operative polls, sources say that though CM Kiran is claiming he will go ahead with Panchayat raj polls in June, there is a challenge.
It is being said that only when the government is assured of good monsoon rain in June-July and decrease in power cuts, it will go ahead with polls and will not risk political suicide at a time when the opposition is still weak in the state. We have to see how the Rain God will bless Kiran and his team.
